Be inspired as we turn the Dixon’s auditorium into a space to hear and reflect on the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His voice lives on in recordings of his speeches, especially the albums that were pressed during his life. We’ll put the needle on the vinyl, but feel free to turn the record over at the end of side A.

IRIS Artist Fellows will coordinate a program based on theme “It’s Up to Us,” from a speech by Dr. Martin Luther King on that topic. Focusing elements will include Dr. Harold Middlebrook’s relationship with Dr. King and Dr. King’s worldwide influence on civil liberties
Mallory Heights Community Club members commemorate 50 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s death through a MLK50 Walk/Run A-Thon. Start time TBA. Open to for wheelchair participants, walkers and runners. MHCC will walk/run FORWARD and DREAM BIG to empower the community, educate the youth and promote justice and peace through nonviolence.
