Voices of Justice in the Mid-South presents a one hour commemorative program at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, beginning at 1:00 p.m., on April 7, 2018, in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and in recognition of the many Memphis Clergy Members who were involved in the daily struggles associated with the 1968 sanitation strike.
Celebrate the legacy of Dr. King 50 years later at the Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Vision Gala at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues). Performances by our inspiring Company and DTH School students with special appearances by guest celebrities will be followed by dinner, dessert and our exciting after party at the Park Hyatt on W. 57th Street.
The Virginia Key Beach Park Trust will host a community program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service and impact on social change. The program will consist of a community dialogue centered around the inclusion of all South Florida communities and will have a unique gospel music theme. There will be a live telecast of the National Civil Rights Museum MLK50 programming.
Civil Rides is a 3-day cycling trek from Memphis, Tenn., to Jackson, Miss., April 4 – 6, 2018, to raise money and awareness for racial reconciliation and ending hunger around us.
